We will have many state and federal forms and instructions available for do-it-yourself preparers. These forms are free. We also offer internet access so that you can print out copies of forms that are available only online. There is a fee of 25 cents per sheet for computer printing. Photocopying is also available at 25 cents per page.
Two AARP tax specialists will be available by appointment to prepare your return for you. This free service is intended for people age 60 or older or people of limited financial means, with relatively simple tax returns. Tax appointments will be scheduled Thursdays and Fridays, 10:30 to 1:30, February 2 through April 13. Each appointment can last one hour. There are no walk-ins; please call Maxwell Library at 672-3661 during regular hours to schedule your appointment.

“Flowers in February: Recent Pastel Paintings by Mary Padgett” brings welcome splashes of color to winter’s white and gray February 2 to 28. Padgett, a member of the Pastel Society of America whose work has been featured in “American Artist” magazine.
Open house and presentation, “Pastel: A Versatile, Colorful, and Portable Artist’s Medium,” Tuesday, February 7, from 2 to 3 p.m.
This event is free and open to the public.
Back by popular demand, a repeat of the program held on February 16.
Maxwell’s Everson Art Talks return on Thursday, February 23, from 2 to 3 p.m. when Linda Blanding and Nancy Davidson introduce the work of the early 20th century American painter Robert Henri. “From New York to Corrymore: Robert Henri and Ireland” is on exhibit at the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse February 11 to May 13. Museum docents Blanding and Davidson will show slides of the artist’s work and use their Visual Teaching Strategies (VTS) to help you appreciate what you see. The talk is free and open to the public.

All ages of homeschoolers are invited to the “Learn About Your Library” program on Friday, February 17, at 10:30 a.m. We’ll discuss everything from the catalog system to our collections to databases available for quality research. The library has purchased two e-readers, an Amazon Kindle and a Barnes & Noble Nook. They are available to check out from the library for a two week period.
To check out an ereader, you will need to present your own valid library card and a picture ID (such as a driver’s license or state ID) each time. Your account must not have fines above $5.00 or other blocks.
Children age 14 and older may use their own library card with a parent’s photo ID (the parent must be present). Children in elementary and middle school can use an ereader with a parent’s card and ID and with the parent present.
Mystery Book Club: Unraveling Yarns
Unraveling Yarns is Maxwell's mystery with knitting book club. The book selections will all have a mystery or suspense theme.
The group meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month, 10:30 a.m. - Noon.

Remembering Camillus is a project to collect, share and archive stories of Camillus residents about their lives here – growing up, working, playing, worshiping, going to school, raising families. SU intern Catherine Varonko coordinated the oral history program throughout the summer of 2011. Please call the library if you'd like to record your Camillus memories.
