Software Downloads Needed for e-book Use

The Kindle does not require additional software downloads.
To download Kindle Books all you need is a Kindle device.

These downloads are needed only for checking out e-books from OCPL’s Digital Catalog, often referred to as Overdrive.

The simplest way to learn if you need to download software for your device is to go to the main library website, http://www.onlib.org/  Go to Catalog, and then Digital Catalog/Downloadable Items.

Go to Getting Started and then Quick Start Guide. This is the best place to find your device and what software, if any, is required to use it.

When you find software that you need, follow the link from the Quick Start Guide and follow all directions.

To download Adobe EPUB eBooks on your Android, BlackBerry, or iPhone device, you need OverDrive Media Console v2 (or newer).
